Chairman’s Message

Dear Members and Guests,

In 2008 we have a full calendar of events and hope to provide something for all members.  Our meetings will be held on the fourth Tuesday of the month and we will have a mix of breakfast and evening meetings.  As usual will be holding a half day conference in May and our Annual Business Meeting in November.

Once again we will be holding a certification study program for CPP and PSP candidates leading up to an examination in November 2008.  We hope to build on the success of our previous programs and expand our method of delivery to better support candidates who are unable to attend face to face sessions.

This year we have also convened a number of core Chapter Sub-Committees to further boost the effectiveness of our Chapter.  In particular we are seeking the support of members for the efforts of our Events; Finance and Fundraising; Certification; Web and Membership Sub-Committees.  Members and those guests who have chosed to provide details for our contact list will receive updates on these activities throughout the year.

In addition to these formally constitued Sub-Committees a number of members have expressed interest in establishing "special interest" groups.  These groups will be focussed on areas of special professional and personal interest for members.  Please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Chapter Executive Committee if you have any suggestions.

Finally and most importantly I extend a personal invitation to all members and guest to participate in 2008.  It is only via participation that our Chapter will continue to meet the needs of our members.  The extent to which each of us is able to participate will of course vary however I urge you to go that little bit further this year and truly become part of the chapter.  Speaking from personal experience I know that your contribution will be both valued and returned to you many fold by your fellow members.

Regards,

Graeme Polley, CPP
